WestPack 2018 — What You Want

Anytime someone asks my father what SixB Labels’ minimum order quantity requirement is, he simply responds, “One.” Now he, Fari Bakhshian, SixB Labels Vice President, is being completely genuine with this statement, believing projects with smaller quantities shouldn’t have barriers to high quality design and functionality. Of course the cost of one label could be the same as 100 labels; and if you really don’t want the other 99, we won’t ship them to you.

If past years are any indication, this will probably be the No. 1 judgement question we will be asked during one of the largest annual packaging trade shows, WestPack, taking place at the Anaheim Convention Center, Booth 5474, February 6-8, 2018.

    Print Awards — A 2017 Highlight

As 2017 comes to a close, we look back at one of the year's highlights for SixB Labels.  This year, SixB Labels was recognized by the Printing & Imaging Association of MidAmerica (a regional division of the Printing Industries of America) by receiving two Graphic Excellence (GraphEx) Certificates of Merit . These Best of Category awards are within the areas of Flexo and Digital Printing for labels we manufactured on behalf of Herman Marshall and Central Market, respectively

The word meaningful only begins to describe how honored and excited the SixB Family is to have received these awards. It is particularly special to garner this acknowledgement of excellence from our peers in the printing industry!

    Happy Holidays!

All of us observe a variety of holiday traditions, choosing different ways to mark the end of the current year and the beginning of the new.  Here at SixB Labels, we want to take this opportunity to share our heartfelt best wishes with our customers and greater community for a joyous Holiday Season and a bright and bountiful New Year.

In lieu of sending a traditional card, we made a donation to the United Way to help with the Thomas Fire relief efforts that will continue beyond the Holidays. We also made a little video sharing our Happy Holidays wishes below, and invite you to take a look.

6 Points for Superlative Cold Foil Stamped Labels

Cold foiling, also known as cold foil stamping, finds its place as an indoor, decorative accent.  Unlike the choice of metallic labels that might be suitable as asset tags, for example, or be used outdoors, cold foiling is designed to enhance marketing efforts via its visual effects.  A sparkling and colorful approach to labeling can increase visual impact and thus consumer interest. Thus cold foiling lends itself to packaging, products, correspondence, marketing materials, and publications.

The following are six points to consider if your goal is to create superlative cold foil labels.

A Guide to Hot Foil Label Stamping

What is Hot Foil Label Stamping?

Hot foil stamping is the process used to print hot foil labels or hot stamp labels, among other products. It may sometimes be referred to as hot stamping or foil stamping and is a fantastic way of producing high-quality luxury labels.  The process involves using a hot stamping machine, where a die is heated and the product to be stamped is placed below it. The die is then pressed through a metalized or painted roll leaf carrier and the dry paint or foil is injected into the product's surface, in this case, a label. Because the materials involved are dry, hot foil stamping is a non-polluting process.

5 Points for Producing Impressive Die-Cut Labels

Die-cut labels enjoy a universal presence in the realms of business and industry.  These labels can be produced with a wide variety of printing techniques and have a multitude of applications.  So if you have shopped for retail products, used labels in your company's operations,  or produced labels, the odds are very high that at some point you will have dealt with die-cut labels.

Point 1: Knowing What a Die-Cut Label Is

Normally, die-cut labels are created by using a shaped cutting tool, as you would use a cookie cutter or pastry cutter, to slice through the material.  This may produce a finished product with rounded rather than square corners (square corners are more likely to catch on things than round ones) and one that is generally easy to apply.  Often, a custom die-cut label project requires the production of a label that does not conform to any standard shape but is instead based on a wide variety of images, such as a ribbon shape for an anniversary seal,  a triangle, a heart, or a football, or some other custom shape.

6 Steps to Outstanding Custom Cosmetic Labels

OK, so you have this amazing personal care or beauty product, and developing your custom cosmetic label ideas is concerning because maybe you have never done one before, and/or despite years of experience are having a difficult time creating a new concept. SixB Labels has manufactured an abundance of personal care and beauty product labels over the years — from lip glosses, nail polish, and skincare lines to eye shadows, hair care products, and essential oils.  We hope the insights in this post give you the necessary tools to take the next steps when creating labels for cosmetic glass jars, bottles, plastic jars, or tubes.

Label requirements might be product specific, but often require it to be moisture resistant to withstand wet environments, particularly oils, and durable enough not to wrinkle, scratch or tear from frequent handling or even being carried inside a purse. Custom-designed labels for cosmetic products may be applied to many different types of containers, including

    • Labels for cosmetic jars and lipstick tubes
    • Clear cosmetic labels for nail polish bottles
    • Labels for cosmetic tubes (mascara, lip-gloss, eye rollerball)
    • Labels for squeezable bottles, hand sanitizer bottles
    • Labels for plastic or glass cosmetic bottles
